18 New Medical Colleges Likely to be Established by Railways

New Delhi: K.H. Muniyappa, Minister of State for Railways, in a written application to Lok Sabha has proposed to establish 18 new medical colleges, attached to existing Railway hospitals, through Public Private Partnership.
 
As per sources, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bilaspur, Lucknow, Barasat, Bhubaneshwar, Mysore, Kharagpur, Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Jodhpur, Gardenreach, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, B.R.Singh Hospital/Kolkata, Bhopal, Jammu and Thirvanthapuram are the places, which are on the list of the Government for the construction of the medical colleges.
 
In addition to that, seven nursing colleges are likely to be set up at - Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai (Kalyan), Chennai, Secunderabad, Lucknow and Jabalpur, attached to existing Railway Hospitals, through Public Private Partnership. Moreover, the Railways have also proposed to set up a training institute at Dankuni (West Bengal).
