Bridge Course Offered at NIFT

New Delhi: Good news for the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) alumnis. Students who have passed their undergraduate or postgraduate diploma from NIFT before 2006 can now upgrade their degrees to Bachelors or Masters’ degree.

Rajiv Takru, Director General, NIFT in Delhi said that being a diploma holder one cannot go for further studies. If one wishes to pursue MBA or any other higher education they are not able to do so. Therefore, the decision has been taken by NIFT to help its alumni in the further studies. NIFT is now keen on bridging the gap between its diploma and degree-holding batches. This facility is being provided by the NIFT centers situated in New Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Gandhinagar. The syllabus of the bridge course has been designed after the comparison of degree and diploma syllabi.

This bridge programme will be helpful for the students who wish to pursue MBA after studying fashion. Registration will be done on first come first get basis. This bridge programme has 1,140 seats for both UG and PG. The programme will commence from the month of August 2009. Classes will be held in the evening. The duration for the course will be six months and one year for postgraduate and undergraduate alumni respectively. Alumni can apply at any one of the seven centers.
