CAT Dates Likely To Be Extended

New Delhi: Common Admission Test (CAT) committee has made the announcement that CAT test dates are likely to be extended beyond December 7. Satish Deodhar, CAT Committee Convener, said that efforts would be made to reschedule all exams, which cannot be taken by December 7. Moreover, if needed, they might extend the dates beyond December as well.

Finally, on Tuesday (December 1, 2009), Online CAT was conducted without any major glitches at most centres in the capital. However, a few students, surprisingly, were asked to take the CAT again. Ulhas Vairagkar, Director, TIME Coaching Centre, said that four of our students told us they were asked by Prometric to take the test again. But there was no reason mentioned in the message. He also said that the four students, after having appeared for the CAT once on Monday, sat for it again on Tuesday. However, Prometric denied any report of recalling any candidates.

A Prometric official stated in an email reply, that it is highly unlikely that candidates who have already taken the CAT would have been asked to sit for it again. They are not aware of any such occurrences as of today and will further investigate this matter. These candidates may contact CAT Candidate Care for any clarification.
