CAT Online Exam Makes Debut

New Delhi: On November 28, 2009, i.e. Saturday, Common Admission Test (CAT), makes its online debut. For the first time ever, thousands of management aspirants across the nation would take up the world's most demanding entrance examinations, for any graduate institute, online. The test is scheduled to be conducted between November 28 and December 7, 2009 at 105 centres, in 32 cities across the country.
 
CAT is scheduled to be conducted in two sessions, the first session's reporting time is 8:30 a.m., in which the exam commences at 10 in the morning and the second session's reporting time is 1:30 p.m., where the exam commences at 3:30 p.m. In order to apprise the first timers with some guidance for the online CAT, the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) also introduced a 'Practical Guide to the CAT 2009'.
 
As per sources, more than 2.4 lakh aspirants from across the nation would appear for the entrance examination, with a hope to make it to the hallowed corridors of the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and several other reputed B-Schools of India. In the year 2009, a total of 241,582 students would appear for CAT, which indicates a clear dip from the 246,000 students who appeared for CAT 2008.
