Karnataka University to Conduct Centralized Counselling

Dharward: Karnataka University, Dharward has decided to conduct centralized counselling for admission to several post-graduate courses for the session 2009-10. As per the sources, a common admission cell for the purpose has been set up at Kousali Institute of Management Studies (KIMS) on the University campus.

V Rangaswamy, Registrar of the University, said that the centralized counselling would be conducted for admission to all courses except faculties of commerce, law and education for which, the admission process would be conducted in the respective departments.

The new system of centralized councelling is introduced as a substitute to the earlier one, in which each department used to conduct the admission process which lasted almost two weeks. The process involved announcing up to four provisional selection lists based on merit.

With the centralised counselling process the admission process for each department would be completed within a single day, saving the time of the students as well as the University officials.
