New IIMs Coming Up at Tiruchirappalli, Ranchi, Raipur and Rohtak

New Delhi: Good news for the CAT 2009 aspirants! This year, there are higher chances of their gettinga seat into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), as the four new IIMs have come up in the country, with an intake capacity of 560 students. The proposed additions in the league of IIMs are - Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu), Ranchi (Jharkhand), Raipur (Chhattisgarh) and Rohtak (Haryana).
 
As per sources from Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), the CAT committee was asked to include these additional seats from this year onwards. Presently, there are seven IIMs across the country and the cabinet has now cleared the proposal to set four more in August. However, CAT 2009, which will be commencing from November 28 to December 7, has no mention about the new IIMs.
