NIT Warangal Announces Three More Institutions

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal yesterday announced that it would add three more educational institutions to its list of ‘centers of excellence’. Dr.Y.Venkateswara Rao, Director of NIT Warangal, made the announcement at an inaugural International Alumni Meet, at the institute. Dr. Rao said that the three centers of excellence will boost the research activities at all the departments of the institute, in a larger scale.
 
Apart from bolstering the research activities, the three centers of excellence of NIT Warangal, namely, Center for Advanced Materials, Center for Automation & Instrumentation and Center for Innovation & Development are aimed to boost the academic strength of the institute, which is considered one of the prestigious institutions of India. The objective of Center for Advanced Material (CAM) is to provide a platform for the young aspirants, teachers and external agencies, for R&D.
 
Center for Automation & Instrumentation (CAI) aims at starting advanced research work in a number of areas of engineering and technology, including Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics, Advanced Controls, Sensors-Transducers, Intelligent System and Intelligent Instrumentation System. Apart from promoting in-house R&D, CAI will provide an opportunity for industrial organizations to make use of its state-of-the-art facilities and intellectual student brains, to nurture their applied technologies.
 
Through the Centre for Innovation and Development, the students will be able to sharpen their creative ideas in different fields of engineering and convert them into products useful for humankind. It is anticipated that all the three centers of excellence of NIT Warangal will cause a considerable increase in the number of scholars associated with the institute.
