Arunachal Pradesh Education Bill 2010 Passed by Arunachal Assembly

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Education Bill 2010 has been unanimously passed by the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly on Friday i.e. March 19, 2010. The Bill targets to improve the present education sector of the state.

Stressing for 'self-introspection' in the present education system, Education Minister Bosiram Siram said that the demands are increasing in the education sector, regarding the pay structure, as per the Sixth Central Pay Commission recommendations, but at the same time duties are not being performed by the professionals (without blaming anyone).

He further said that the State has the lowest literacy rate (54.74 per cent) in the whole region of North East, as compared to Manipur, which has 88.84 per cent literacy rate, the second highest literary rate in India. All the needed viewpoints and thoughts regarding the education sector of the state have been included in the Bill.

Furthermore, Mr. Siram added that first-rate teachers must be recruited with a sufficient recruitment mechanism, because children in the state need quality education. In addition to this, untrained teachers will be trained properly, to bring eminent change in the system.
