GGSIP University Enrolment Session 2010-11 Begins

New Delhi: Enrolment session at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has started for various undergraduate and postgraduate degree level courses, for the ensuing academic session 2010-11. This year, the university has devised five brochures, for making admissions to its various undergraduate and postgraduate academic programmes: Admission Brochure - I (Professional Programmes); Admission Brochure - II (Engineering & B.Arch. Programmes); Admission Brochure - III (MBBS Programme), Admission Brochure - IV (PG Medical programmes) and Admission Brochure - V (Super Speciality Medical Course).
 
Prof. D. K. Bandyopadhyay, Vice Chancellor (VC) of GGSIPU has made the announcement that the admission brochures-cum-application forms will be available for sale from February 17, 2010. Interested candidates can obtain the admission brochure-cum-application form of GGSIPU from 55 designated branches of Punjab & Sind Bank, spread all across country. The university is providing the facility of online submission of application form for CET-2010. The application form along with CET fee can be submitted through the university's website: http://www.ipu.ac.in/. Last date for submission of filled-in applications for most of the programmes is April 21, 2010, except super speciality medical courses and postgraduate Medical Degree/ Diploma Programmes, for which it is June 8, 2010, and March 26, 2010, respectively.
 
Admission to about 70 academic programmes would be made through 35 Common Entrance Test (CET) to be conducted this year, for about 15,000 seats. As per sources, the University is planning to conduct the CETs for four of its most sought-after courses MBA, MBBS, B.Tech and MCA, at 10 cities across India, including Delhi, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Bhopal, Noida, Jalandhar and Nagpur. For rest of the courses, the entrance exams will be held only in Delhi. The CETs of MBBS and PG medical courses will be of three hours duration. On the other hand, the CETs of all other courses will be of two-and-a-half hour’s duration.
