IIM-A, NID Gearing Up For New Year Bash

Ahmedabad: Students of the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) will host a fashion show and swing to the tunes of the DJ on the night of December 31, 2010. Glen DSilva, an IIM-A student, has said that they decided to host some events to celebrate the New Year for the students who haven't gone home.

As their examinations just ended on Thursday i.e. on December 31, 2010, most PGP-1 students have headed homewards. Most of the students in the campus are the final year PGP students. Many of these students also have their own celebration plans up their sleeves.

At the National Institute of Design (NID), celebration plans are much simpler. Students are planning small get-togethers in separate groups with music on their laptops, the institute's mess will add a touch of celebration by serving cakes to the students. The bigger gala event at the institute will be a community dinner at the institute’s basket ball court. The dinner will be participated by the institute's faculty and the staff of the institute.

However, certain institutes like National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Gandhinagar and Mudra Institute of Communications Ahmedabad (MICA) have declared holidays for the students around these days.
