Jamia Sports Quota Enrollment Commences From April 26

New Delhi: Good news for students aspiring to get enrolled at Jamia Milia Islamia (JMI) University under the spots quota! Jamia announces its sports quota enrollment for the upcoming session to commence from Monday i.e. April 26, 2010. Enrollment is open for both undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses.
 
As per sources, Simi Malhotra, Media Coordinator at JMI has announced that the application process for the graduate as well as the post graduate non professional courses for those applying through sports quota will commence from Monday i.e. April 26, 2010.
 
To be eligible, candidates who wish to apply through the sports quota have to represent their university, state or region in certain sports and would also have to appear for sports trials. Students can obtain the admission forms and prospectus at the office of Games and Sports in the university campus from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The last date for the submission of forms is June 15 and the sports trials will be from June 21 to June 26.
 
The sports listed in the University’s announcement which will be considered while admissions include cricket, boxing, volleyball, shooting (air pistol/air rifle only), football, basketball, table tennis, swimming, athletics, weightlifting and power lifting. In addition, Malhotra also said that JMI has better facilities for sportspersons from this year because they are helping the capital to host the Commonwealth Games 2010, along with help and cooperation from Delhi University (DU).
