Karnataka Constitutes Committee on Medical Fee Structure

Bangalore: Government of Karnataka has constituted a one-man committee headed by the Retired Justice H N Narayan, to recommend fee structure for Medical and Dental courses, for both Government and Private colleges. Ramachandra Gowda, Karnataka Medical Education Minister has made the announcement regarding the formation of the committee on Friday i.e. February 26, 2010. He said that it was constituted to fix the fee structure for the medical courses offered by both Government and Private Colleges.
 
Further, he mentioned that the fee structure was not fixed for the year 2010-11 in Government Colleges and those coming under the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K) as a petition were pending before the High Court on the issue. Mr Gowda added that some students had approached the Karnataka High Court against the fixed fee structure for the year 2006-07 for admission into COMED-K and Minority and Linguistic Management Institutions on arbitrary basis, without recommendations of any committee.
