Reliance ADA Group to Establish Dhirubhai Ambani University

Mumbai: On Thursday i.e. October 21, 2010, Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani (ADA) Group has announced to establish Dhirubhai Ambani University (DAU) in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Anil D Ambani, Chairman, Reliance ADA Group, said that a high-quality University at Bhopal, which offers programmes in the Information Technology, is a priority need for a state like MP.
 
Further, Mr. Ambani added that it is on the vanguard of making great strides in economic development on the strength of its intellectual resources. In addition, he told the sources that the experience and expertise which group has acquired by establishing the DA-IICT at Gandhinagar (Gujarat), which is one of the renowned institutes in India, gives them the confidence to move forward on this path and contribute to the nation's knowledge bank.
 
As per sources, the Government of Madhya Pradesh has issued the letter of intent. Further, sources told that the government will also provide land for the establishment of the university. According to a release, the Reliance ADA Group has assigned Rs 100 crore in developing higher education in Madhya Pradesh.
 
Sources informed that the campus of the university will be spread over an area of 110 acres. The new university will focus on studies and research in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and merge these activities with its established and emerging interface disciplines, sources added. 
 
In addition, sources informed that the university will also focus niche programmes relevant to the economic development of Madhya Pradesh. The proposed university would offer undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses, sources added.
