AIIMS to Organize 39th Convocation

New Delhi: The 39th annual convocation of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, is scheduled to be held on December 21, 2011. The convocation ceremony will be organized at Jawaharlal Auditorium, AIIMS, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi - 110 608. Students who have successfully graduated in 2010 are eligible to participate in the convocation ceremony and hence, are invited to receive their degree in person.
 
As per the public notice issued recently, Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson, National Advisory Council, Govt. of India, will grace the ceremony as chief guest and deliver the convocation address. The ceremony will further be presided by Sh. Ghulam Nabi Azad, President AIIMS and Minister of Health & Family Welfare.
 
Eligible candidates who desire to receive their degrees during the ceremony must note that the physical presence of the candidate is mandatory to obtain the degree. Hence, they are advised to send their consent to Registrar’s Office AIIMS on the email ID: 39convoaiims@gmail.com or fax on 011-26589766. The last date to receive the consent is December 15, 2011 (up to 5.00 pm).
 
Students keen on receiving the degree in person are requested to attend the first rehearsal on December 19, 2011 at 3.30 pm. As such, they should be seated in Jawaharlal Nehru Auditorium, AIIMS, latest by 2.30 pm. This will be followed by a final full dress rehearsal on December 20, 2011 from 11 am onwards. Candidates should be present at the venue by 10.00 am.
 

Students, who have not registered themselves for the convocation ceremony, will be presumed to have opted for receiving the degree in absentia. Candidates should further note that they should assemble in the Foyer by 3.30 pm on the day of convocation, i.e. December 21, 2011.
