GGSIPU to Offer Course in Financial Markets

The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), in collaboration with National Stock Exchange (NSE), will offer a two-year MBA course in financial markets and a three-year BBA course in financial markets. Both the undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) degree level courses will be offered in the upcoming session commencing from July-August.
 
Recently, the University has signed an agreement to launch both the undergraduate and postgraduate degree level course in management. The courses are offered with an objective to train students with academic skills on issue connected to the financial markets.
 
Chitra Ramakrishna, Joint Managing Director of NSE, said that students will also be taught in subject matter such as investment, trading and portfolio management skills through mock software developed by the exchange. Sources informed that NSE will as well offer training to the faculty members of all affiliated colleges/institutions of GGSIPU. Besides, it will also provide a panel of industry professionals, who can deliver guest lectures in these colleges.
 
Dilip K Bandyopadhyay, Vice Chancellor (VC), GGSIPU, said that as a part of the syllabus, students opting for MBA programme will have to qualify in 15 modules of NSE’s National Certification in Financial Markets (NCFM). In case of BBA course, students will have to clear eight NCFM modules. He also informed that GGSIPU in the final grading of students will incorporate the marks assigned by NSE on these modules.
