IIM-A to Make Its 46th Annual Convocation Online

Ahmedabad: For the first time this year, Indian Institute of Management - Ahemedabad (IIM-A) decides to make its annual convocation online. The institute's 46th annual convocation, which is scheduled on March 26, will be webcasted.
 
This year, IIM-A will be celebrating its golden jubilee year; so, the annual convocation will have Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as its chief guest, while chief minister Narendra Modi and Governor Dr Kamla will also be present on the occasion. The convocation will begin at 6 pm.
 
IIM-A has decided to online its 46th convocation following several requests for participation from people outside the campus. In addition, the complete proceedings of the convocation, including the convocation procession in which the students and faculties in convocation gowns walking towards the venue, the institute director's speech and the chief guest's convocation address will all be webcasted.
 
Manager of global partnerships and corporate affairs at IIM-A Ishita Solanki has said that there have been so many requests from people for taking part in the convocation. But since the seats are limited, they cannot accommodate more people. Therefore, they decided to webcast the event. He also added since they are celebrating the institute's golden jubilee and will have prime minister as the chief guest this year, they wanted to share this special occasion with everyone.
