SIRTAR Rohtak to Launch D Ed Course

Chandigarh: Yesterday i.e. on April 26, 2011, the State Institute for Research, Training and Rehabilitation (SIRTAR), Rohtak, Haryana, has announced that from the current academic session, the institute will launch a new course, namely Diploma in Education (D Ed) programme.
 
As per sources, Haryana Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Geeta Bhukkal, has announced the launch of the D Ed course. She also said that the intake capacity would be 25 for the D Ed course.
 
Course like Bachelor of Education (B Ed) with an intake capacity of 25 and Post Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation and Psychology with an intake capacity of 10 are already being offered by the institute.
 
The State Institute for Rehabilitation, Training and Research (SIRTAR) was set up as an autonomous body under the Society Registration Act, 1860 and has been functioning directly under the administrative control of Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Govt. of Haryana.
 
SIRTAR’s main objectives are to provide educational as well as rehabilitation services to persons with special needs for their mainstreaming in the society, to develop trained man power in the field of disability and to undertake research in the field of Mental Retardation, Cerebral Palsy, Autism & Multiple Disabilities.
