Ambedkar University to Introduce Eight New Courses

New Delhi: Ambedkar University, Delhi, also referred to as AUD, is likely to introduce eight new courses in its curriculum, including its first management programme, from session 2012. The sale of application forms for admission into session 2012-13 will commence from May 25, 2012. However, the last date for submission of applications is June 20, 2012.
 
While explaining about the courses, Shyam Menon, Vice-Chancellor of the University, said that the University is launching an MBA course with a focus on public policy and social entrepreneurship, MA programmes with specialization in visual art, performance art, cinematic art and literary art and a MA programme in education.
 
Menon continued that the University is also introducing two M Phil programmes on development practice and gender studies. As per the University officials, another programme awaiting the Academic Council's (AC) approval is MA in Global Studies. This course is likely to be offered in collaboration with the University of California, Santa Barbara.
 
In addition, Professor Geetha Venkataraman, Chairperson of the admission committee, said that the Master programmes in various arts specialization will be offered under the aegis of the new School of Culture and Creative Expressions. She further clarified that the admission committee will be able to confirm whether it will be offered from this year or the next only after the Council clears it.
 
At present, the University is offering 17 undergraduate and postgraduate courses, apart from PhDs under various schools. The undergraduate programmes include BA honours in History, Psychology, Economics, English, Mathematics, and Sociology.
