BHU to Organize 94th Convocation on March 17

Varanasi: The 94th convocation ceremony of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is scheduled to be held on March 17, 2012 at the University campus. The convocation ceremony is being organized for all those students who passed out in the year 2011. However, the faculties/Institutes would hold a function on March 16, 2012 where degrees will be distributed to the students.
 
As per the notification issued by the University, Smt. Meira Kumar, Hon'ble Speaker, Lok Sabha, will grace the event as Chief Guest and deliver the Convocation Address. Students, who want to take part in the ceremony, are required to send their consent to the concerned Dean of the Faculty through Fax/E-mail/Letter, latest by March 11, 2012 evening.
 
In addition, students are also notified that Academic robes (for attending the convocation) will be supplied to the candidates at Faculty/Institute level from the afternoon of March 14, 2012 to continue upto March 15, 2012 evening on depositing Gown charges of Rs 100 (non-refundable) and security deposit (refundable) of Rs 500.
 
Only those students with prescribed academic robes are permitted to receive the degree in function and therefore, all willing graduands may expeditiously send their consent within the stipulated time.
