Central University of Rajasthan to Conduct First Convocation

Ajmer: The first convocation of the Central University of Rajasthan, Bandarsindri, Rajasthan, is scheduled to be held on September 1, 2012 at 10.00 am IST. The convocation venue will be University’s own campus Bandarsindri. The ceremony is being conducted to award degrees to all successful students of 2009 and 2010 batches by the Academic Council.
 
As per the notification issued by the University, the convocation address will be given by Shri Kapil Sibal, the Hon’ble Union Minister of Human Resource Development and Telecommunication. However, Shri Sachin Pilot, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology, will grace the event as the Chief Guest.
 
According to sources, a total of 158 students will be awarded degrees on the day. While speaking to the press, MM Salunkhe, Vice-Chancellor of CU, informed that students who have secured highest CGPA in their respective programmes during the year 2009 and 2010 will be awarded gold medals.
 
He also said that the University’s effort is to provide best infrastructural facilities to the students for their overall development. The University has recently completed construction on 24,200 sq m. Presently, it has 14 degree courses and offers PHD programmes in 20 subjects that comprises of a total of around 800 students.
