Delhi University (DU) Issues First Cut-Off List for Admissions 2012

New Delhi: Delhi University (DU), New Delhi, has issued the first cut-off list for admission into various arts, commerce and science courses, to be offered in the session 2012. The cut-off list has been published recently on the University’s official website: http://www.du.ac.in/. The direct links for the same are:

For Science cutoffs: http://web4.du.ac.in/CUTOFF12/firstcutoff/firstcutoff_sci.pdf

As per sources, there has been a hike in the cut-offs of various popular courses, like B Com (Honours), BA (Honours) in Economics, English and History and B Sc (Honours) in Physics and Chemistry. However, this time, the University has played safe by not taking cut-offs to perfect 100%, as it created chaos last year.

This year, many popular colleges like Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College and Sri Venkateswara have put a control over hike in the cut-offs, while others went out increasing the cutoffs up to 11% in courses like BA (Honours) in History. However, for candidates aspiring admission in regular science course, there will be a baffle as the cut-offs have taken a hike up to 10%.

According to the latest cut-off list, SRCC restraining from a 100% cutoff for its B Com (Honours) course, registered a 96.5% for commerce aspirants and 98.5% for others. However, LSR's B Com cutoff remained unaffected at 97% this year. Similarly, Sri Venkateswara College has also maintained its 97% to 98% as the cutoff range for B Com (H). Whereas, Kirori Mal College remained extra cautious by posting 96.75% as the cutoff for B Com (Honours).

Sources also informed that the cutoffs in B Com (Honours) and B Com programme is anticipated to drop by as much as 5% in the second list at outside-the-campus colleges. Courses that have witnessed the big jump this year are BA (Honours), BA (Honours) English, B Sc (Honours) Mathematics and B Sc (Honours) Physics.

The first cutoff admissions have started from today i.e. June 26, 2012 and will continue till June 28, 2012. The second cutoff will be announced on June 28, 2012 and students will be able to access it at midnight at DU's official website. For any further queries about admission, eligibility and admission procedure, candidates are advised to visit the University’s aforementioned official website.
