IGIDR Ninth Convocation to be Held on Feb 7

Mumbai: The ninth convocation of Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Maharashtra, is scheduled to be held on February 7, 2012 at 11.00 am. The venue for convocation ceremony will be the Auditorium, IGIDR, Mumbai. As per the notification issued by the University, Dr. C. Rangarajan, Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, will grace the event as Guest of Honour and will deliver the Convocation Address. In addition, Dr. D. Subbarao, Governor, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and President, IGIDR, will preside the convocation event and confer the degrees.
 
Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) is an advanced research institute established and fully funded by the Reserve Bank of India for carrying out research on development issues from a multi-disciplinary point of view. IGIDR was registered as an autonomous society on November 14, 1986 and as a public trust in January 1987. Subsequently, the Institute was recognized as a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act. Since then, it has been awarded with the highest National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) rating of A++ (under the old methodology) given to Indian academic institutions.
