IIMB Introduces New Programme in Advanced Financial Risk Management From Session 2012

Bangalore: Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), Karnataka, has again come up with an innovative management programme for working professionals. It has recently launched a new eight month certificate programme in Advanced Financial Risk Management, starting from October 2012.
 
As per sources, the programme focuses on financial operators engaged in risk management, such as traders, dealers, asset and fund managers, portfolio managers, financial analysts and managers performing control functions. In order to study, candidates have been provided with the option of on-campus or distance-learning mode. However, the classes for the same will be held on Saturdays.
 
As far as the eligibility is concerned, graduates from any stream with a minimum work experience of five years in banking, financial intermediaries, software and other service firms engaged in banking and banking-related industries can apply for this course. In order to apply for the course, candidates are required to apply online by filing in the online application form made available on the website: http://www.iimb.ernet.in/, latest by August 21, 2012.
 
Explaining about the newly launched course, M S Narasimhan, Professor - Finance and Control Area, IIMB, said that the concepts and methodologies for measuring and managing risk that are covered in the course provides a good grounding in both basic and advanced financial risk management principles and practices. Moreover, this would help financial institutions and firms to mitigate risk in these complex and volatile times, he added.
