JNU PhD Programme (Direct Admission) 2012

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, has invited applications from eligible candidates for direct admission into PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy) programmes to be offered in the following academic departments of the University, in the ensuing academic session 2012-13. Admissions for the PhD programmes are offered in two semesters - Monsoon Semester and Winter Semester.

How to Apply
Interested candidates can apply online or offline as per the following guidelines:
 
Online Application: In order to apply online, candidates are required to fill in the online application form by logging onto the University’s official website: http://www.jnu.ac.in/. The online application portal will remain open from February 6, 2012 (10:00 am) till March 21, 2012 (5:00 pm). After successfully submitting the online application, one must take a printout of the auto-generated confirmation page. The duly acknowledge confirmation page, along with requisite documents and application fee (mentioned on the website) should be sent by registered post / speed post, to the below given address latest by March 28, 2012 (for Monsoon semester).

Offline Application: The set of Application Form and Prospectus may be obtained through Post by sending requisition (clearly indicating the programme of study for) along with a crossed Bank Draft for Rs 300 drawn in favor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, payable at New Delhi and a self addressed (unstamped) envelope of a minimum size of 30 x 25 cms. The requisition should be sent through post to the Section Officer (Admissions), Room No. 28, Administrative Block, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi 110067 throughout the year. Candidates are advised not to send request for the application form and prospectus through courier. It is also notified that there will be no cash counter for sale of set of application form and prospectus. The duly filled in application form along with requisite documents should be submitted latest by March 21, 2012 (for Monsoon semester).
 
For any further details regarding admission, eligibility criteria and application procedure, candidates are requested to visit the University’s aforementioned official website.
 
Note: Before applying to admission into Winter Semester, candidates are advised to check the availability of seats in each centre/school.
