PGIMER Chandigarh to Conduct MD / MS Entrance Exam on December 8

Chandigarh: Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, will conduct its MD (Doctor of Medicine) / MS (Master of Surgery) entrance exam on December 8, 2012. Earlier, the entrance exam was scheduled to be held on November 10, but was scrapped following the paper leak. As per the fresh schedule, the examination will be conducted for 148 general seats at different centers in the city from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm.
 
Authorities have made appropriate arrangements to prevent any unfair action. Metal detectors, jammers and frisking will be installed at the exam centres. P K Pradhan, Health Secretary, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, said that the institute has already informed the police to check all the arrangements. Since the exams have also been rescheduled due to paper leak, the institute is all set to conduct fair examination, this time, he further added.
 
Senior officials have refused to spell out the details about reinforcement of security and preparation for examination. However, Dr Amod Gupta, Dean PGI, said that high security will be provided to every center so as to conduct a smooth and fair examination. As per sources, senior faculty will take charge and observe the activity of the students during the entrance examination.
