Centre of Excellence Established at PSG College of Technology

Denmark based company Danfoss India has tied up with PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore to establish its first Centre of Excellence on the college campus on Thursday, 24th October, 2013.

According to Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India This platform would help final year students develop innovative solutions in the areas of climate and energy. We seek to provide students an avenue for experimenting with energy efficient technologies that can help them realise the vision of changing the current scenario from energy demand to energy surplus through this initiative,

The centre comes with an e-learning portal to enable final year engineering students in developing solutions in the areas of climate and energy. The students will also develop solutions to sustainability in food and energy sectors.

The students would be given exposure to induction machines, permanent magnet machines, generators, and variable frequency drives. The live testing labs would enable the students and faculty to understand the practical functioning of the equipment.

Principal of the college R. Rudramoorthy said the tie-up with Danfoss India would expand the academic resources of the college. It would open new doors for students, equip them with practical learning experience and make them technically sound and prepare them as per industry requirements.

Danfoss India has invested 25 lakhs to establish this Centre of Excellence. PSG College will support technical higher education for Danfoss employees.
