President Asks Business Schools to Stimulate New Thinking and Competitiveness in Business Education

Dehradun: Pranab Mukherjee, the President of India, has asked Indian business schools’ managers to put successive efforts in encouraging new thinking and competitiveness in business education and administration. He also highlighted that this change in the business education scenario will certainly help maintaining sustainable development and growth in the country. 
 
President said the same while addressing the first convocation ceremony of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at Kashipur, in Uttarakhand's Udham Singh Nagar district. In his speech, he further emphasized on the necessity of improvement in the overall standard of business education and administration in newly established IIMs in Kashipur and Lucknow, to convert them into centers of excellence. During the ceremony, Mukherjee bestowed degrees to IIM Kashipur's first batch of students in the MBA Post-Diploma course.
 
 
He went on to explain that, once these two business schools succeed in acquire reputation of excellence, they will indeed attract investment from big Indian business houses and multinational companies. Not a single Indian university is listed amongst the top 200 Universities across the globe in rankings, he lamented. However, suggesting solutions to be one of them, he added that Indian Universities should elevate their standard in the specialized fields of research and practice.
 
In addition, Mukherjee also asked Uttarakhand government to make full use of the establishment of state's first IIM at Kashipur. This would not only help in enhancement of industrialization by attracting investment, but also provide far better professionally-trained managers and experts in the field of business education and administration.
