Relaxation of Rules for UGC-NET Examination

Indore: University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to relax the rules for UGC-NET examination 2013. This move of UGC seems to be taken either as their support for the aspirants who did not adhere to the deadlines fixed to submit hard copies of UGC NET examination, or as their failure to attract students to sit the examination this time.

Several questions have risen after the Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) released a notification for about 340 students who could meet the scheduled deadline of May 13 to submit hard copies of the application forms / attendance slip generated online at UGC NET website. As per DAVV, the notice is issued for those candidates who applied for the examination online but did not submit their hard copies of the same at the university.

Neha Sharma, an aspirant said that we had faced problems in submitting the application forms to the varsity authorities on May 13 as it was a declared holiday. We were asked to come a day later to deposit them. She also said that, if there were no such rules then why deadlines are fixed for.

The varsity, providing another chance to the 340 candidates, has asked the candidates to bring two copies of application forms / attendance slip along with identity proof so as to appear in the examination. As per notification, these documents will be required for the valid candidature and have to be submitted to the invigilator at the examination centre.

Moreover, the varsity, while clarifying its stand for allowing the candidates, states that they have received a circular instructing them to allow the candidates after taking the relevant document at the time of examination itself. In a statement, MS Parmar, Public Relation Officer said, the UGC has issued a circular to the varsity instructing that those candidates who failed to submit hard copies of document at the coordinating may be allowed provided that they bring two sets of application forms/ attendance slip along with identity proof.
