Jaipur: Approximately 30 new model colleges are coming up in the state of Rajasthan. The project is the collaborative effort of State Government and the Union Government, with an aim to improve both, the standard and reach of higher education in across the state.
The project has been launched considering the districts, with a lower ratio of conscription in colleges. 30 districts will be covered under the scheme. As per sources, an investment of Rs 8 crores has been allotted for each college, with the state government's share amounting to Rs 2.67 crores. A sum of Rs 270 crores would be invested initially into the project. The model colleges will be equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities and would be spread over an area of 5 -10 acres of land.
According to a Government official, the courses would be designed in harmony with the latest national and international curriculum. The model colleges would impart novel education culture to students. Placements would be at the college level only, and all the colleges would stay connected with internet.
