Srinagar: Good new for the students ofKashmir valley! This year,as thewinters bring in more than the chilling winds and snowfall, the University of Kashmir is set to organize ski courses in Gulmarg. The course is likely to commence from early January. Depending upon the skills of the student, they would be trained under basic and advanced course category.
As per sources, around 60 students, including girls, are expected to take part in the sport. Moreover, those students taking distance education of the University have also been enrolled. Students with some basic knowledge of ski would be preferred and the tourism department would provide them necessary logistics, like ski equipment for the event.
According to the University Officials, the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, Kashmir University, would join hands with the Tourism Department, which organizes a number of winter sports, including ski, in Gulmarg every year, for conducting the sport for two months.
