Lucknow: Lucknow University’s counselling session scheduled form June 23 to July 8 is going to be fully computerized. Keeping in view the convenience of the students the university has decided to introduce a fully-computerised counselling session, where students will not have to fill multiple forms while taking admission.
Dr Anil Mishra, Assistant Coordinator of the Admission Committee, said that 22 computers are installed for the purpose and the process will be a “formless” procedure. He further mentioned that all data pertaining to students have already been fed into the computers. The students, who will be called in batches of 50, will be given a registration slip immediately after they enter. The slip will contain all their data. In case any information is wrongly fed, the slip will have to be submitted with the corrected data which will later be updated in the data bank. Once the documents are verified and the data updated, subjects will be allotted to students on merit basis. Steps have also been taken to prevent double or fake admissions.
Students eligible for scholarship will have to submit their account numbers and other details during the counselling. The scholarships forms will also be computer generated. The process will not only hasten the scholarship process but would also render transparency and accountability to the whole process of scholarships. The system is designed by experts for the smooth running of the entire process.
