New Dates for Engineering CETs

New Delhi: New dates have been issued for Engineering Common Entrance Test (CETs), conducted across the major states in India, for admission into the Bachelors of Engineering programs, keeping in mind the general elections.

On 25th March 2009, the Government of Maharashtra declared that the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHTCET), conducted for admission into government technical and medical colleges and earlier scheduled on 7th May, will now be conducted on 12th May 2009.

Punjab Technical University (PTU) has also rescheduled the date of its Common Entrance Test (CET) 2009, for admission to engineering colleges, to 3rd May 2009. On the other hand, the Joint Entrance Test (JET), for admission to polytechnics, will now be conducted on 30th May 2009, as per the instructions available on March 21.

Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET) 2009, earlier scheduled to be conducted on 29th April, 30th April and 1st May 2009, has now been postponed to 6th, 7th and 8th May 2009.

Dates for submission of special category original certificates, as notified in CET 2009 earlier, have also been altered. The date postponed are NCC on May 9; Sports on May 10; Defence on May 11; and Ex-Defence and Anglo-Indian on May 2.
