PG Diploma in Film Making Launched by Loyola College

Chennai: Department of Filmmaking, School of Media Studies - Loyola College, has launched a one-year PG diploma course in film making. The programme has been launched with an objective of imparting in young aspirants the essential skills required for film making.
 
As a part of the course, students will be given training by eminent technicians of film industry. They will be imparted skills in creative thinking, image making, screenplay writing, planning and budgeting, production management, practical direction, editing for meaning, contextualizing special effects, sound sense, film economics and film ethics. The course will be made flexible and offered in different shifts, keeping in mind the convenience of the students.
 
After the completion of course, Director Bhim Singh Awards will be given to toppers, for best screenplay, direction and editing. Students having plus-two degree or even pursuing plus-two are eligible for the course. Admission will be given on the basis of an aptitude test and interview.
 
The course has been introduced keeping in mind the growing popularity of film industry. Moreover, the industry needs some good filmmakers with the potential to make meaningful movies. The course will aim towards filling the void, by bringing out the talent of the young aspirants and equipping them with necessary skills.
