ST Students in Kerala to Appear in a Separate Entrance Test for MBBS & BDS

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala state government has decided to conduct a separate entrance examination for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, for admissions into Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) courses.

The government has taken the decision due to the lack of adequate number of candidates with 40% marks in the entrance examinations, in the ST category. Only those candidates with 40% mark in the entrance examinations are eligible for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses.

According to the new rule, students who are included in the medical entrance rank list and ST category list will be eligible for attending the test. The students should have an aggregate of 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together in Plus-II exams.

The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will conduct the entrance examination, scheduled to be held at Medical College Campus HSS, Kozhikode, on August 23, from 10 am to 12.30 pm. Candidates are requested to report at 9.30 am. Result of the entrance exam will be made available in the website: www.cee-kerala.org, on August 26. The allotment of seats will be held at the office of the entrance commissioner on August 30, starting 11.30 a.m.
