Student Intake Increased in 36 Colleges Affiliated to Panjab University

Chandigarh: 36 colleges affiliated toPanjab University have received permission from the University to increase 20 seats in each of the courses. Among the 36 colleges that had applied for increasing the numbers of seats, 14 were city colleges, most of them were private institutions.
 
The decision regarding the increase in student intake was taken by the University on the basis of the recommendations made by the committee formed in the last syndicate meeting, to visit the institutions that had applied for increase in seats and assess the infrastructure offered by them. Seats have been increased in undergraduate courses only, including B Com, BBA and BCA.
 
The decision was taken in order to accommodate the increasing number of students opting for higher education across the state. With the passing time, the eagerness and urge to pursue higher education has gained tremendous momentum. Therefore, the colleges and universities across the state are trying to increase the number of seats offered by them.
