New Delhi: TERI University, on its 10th anniversary, after getting deemed university status is all set to launch two new courses in collaboration with The Energy and Resources Institute.
R.K. Pachauri, Chancellor announced that the university is starting a specialized MBA programme on business sustainability, which will train people with the ability to manage businesses in such a way that natural resources do not get used up. He also added that the MBA course is introduced with an aim to create ethical, environmental and social considerations among people.
The second programme is a Masters in Economics with specialization in Environmental and Resource Economics, to be headed by well-known scholar Badal Mukherji. As per the sources, 28 out of 30 students for the first batch have already been selected, and these students have better scores in their graduation examinations than the ones being admitted in postgraduate economics courses at Delhi University (DU) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
TERI University, established in 1998, was granted deemed university status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) next year. Last year, the university was shifted to its new eco-friendly campus in Vasant Kunj, Southwest Delhi. Presently, the university has around 350 students.
