7.5 lakh Students Sit in the Plus Two Examinations in Tamil Nadu on March 1

Chennai: On Monday i.e. March 1, 2010, more than7.5 lakh students appeared in the Plus Two Tamil Nadu (TN) Government Board Examinations. With the state Government abolishing the Common Entrance Test, the Plus Two Examinations have become crucial, which will serve as the 'gateway' to admissions to professional courses, including Medicine.

As per sources, the examinations are being conducted in more than 2000 centres across the state. Also, the School Education Departments had constituted flying squads to prevent copying and conduct surprise checks in the schools. Those found copying would be warned of strict action. Further, at Pennagaram in Dharmapuri district where the bye-election is scheduled to be held on March 27, 2010, the Election authorities have prohibited campaigning near the examination centres.
