AMU Conducts Faculty Development Programmes

Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) conducted several faculty development programmes in order to develop the faculty members of their professional skills. As per sources, the workshop was organized by the Regional English Language Office (RELO) of the American Centre at the US Embassy in New Delhi in collaboration with the University Grants Commission (UGC) Academic Staff College, AMU.
 
A. R. Kidwai, UGC Academic Staff College Director, has informed that Dr. Raashid Nehal, Reader at the Department of English has received a scholarship from Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, US Department of State on E-course in EFL Assessment by Indiana University.
 
Dr. Amirullah Khan and Dr. Faiz Zaidi extended academic support by offering their training services to Madarsa teachers drawn from North India at Indian Institute of Social Sciences, which was also sponsored by RELO. Moreover, Amirullah Khan, Raashid Nehal and Faiz Zaidi had attended a one-day workshop on 'How to Use Dictionary in Access' Classes at the American Centre.
 
Furthermore, Raashid Nehal and Amirullah Khan attended the first trainers' workshop on Training of Trainers at the American Centre. In addition, Dr. Vibha Sharma, Lecturer at the Department of English has been awarded a scholarship to participate in a 4-weekTeens Teacher Training Course in English for the fall term at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, USA.
