Andhra Offers Additional 32000 Engineering Seats

Hyderabad: This year,engineering colleges across the state of Andhra Pradeshhave increased their intake capacity with an additional 32,000 seats. The programmes for which the number of seats has been increased include electronics, mechanical and civil engineering.
 
As per sources, on Friday i.e. on August 6, 2010, a delegation of senior officials met officials from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to hand them the list of new colleges that have been set up and information regarding the increased number of seats.
 
According to officials, the exact number of seats being increased is unknown but roughly 20,000 seats are being added to existing colleges and 12,000 seats are being added to newly established institutions.
 

Further, the officials also informed that 26 new engineering colleges as well as 23 integrated campuses offering both engineering and MBA programme had been granted permission for being set up. In addition, they would be meeting again on Monday to finalize the engineering counseling schedule.
