Visakhapatnam: On Friday i.e. March 12, 2010, Andhra University (AU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft IT Global, to improve the technology support and research activities in the University. Further, Moorthy Uppaluri, Microsoft General Manager, said that the latest and quality software as well as updated technology would be provided to the university, free of cost.
As per sources, after interacting with AU Vice-Chancellor (VC) B Satyanarayana and Registrar P V G D Reddy, the Microsoft country head appreciated the university’s infrastructure facilities and expressed his interest to join the university to enhance its educational facilities.
Further, Mr Satyanarayana briefed Mr Uppaluri that the university has also signed MoUs with Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Brand Ox Apparel Park of Sri Lanka and other major industries. He added the collaborations are done in an urge to encourage the young researchers of the AU students in the software technology field, the Microsoft IT Global, also would provide all the advantages to them.
