Chennai: On Monday i.e. March 8, 2010, Annamalai University announced the resumption of classes from Thursday, March 17. The University was closed last week due to student unrest. As per sources, the University suspended its classes and asked the students to vacate the hostels last week, due to violence after accidental death of four students from Bihar and Jharkhand.
According to the university based in Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu, classes (all years) for arts, science, Indian languages, education, fine arts and agriculture will resume on Thursday.
Further, classes for final year engineering, Masters in engineering/ computer science, M Sc (engineering - normal and integrated), D Pharm, B Pharm and M Pharm will also resume. Classes for first year engineering will resume on March17.
As per the university notification, the resumption of classes for second and third year engineering courses will be announced later.
