Kakinada: On Friday i.e. November 26, 2010, Brigadier Pankaj Sinha, Deputy Director General, Army Recruitment Zone, Chennai, said that online examination system for Army recruitment will be launched from January 2011. He added that the rally proved to be a tremendous success with as many as 33000 candidates from six coastal districts, including Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari Krishna and the union territory of Yanam turning up for recruitment.
Further, Brigadier Pankaj Sinha told that out of 7884 candidates who qualified in the running race, only 1246 were selected for medical tests. As per sources, the response to the recruitment was impulsive but most of the candidates lagged behind in physical fitness. However, fitness standards were better then last year, sources added. Brigadier Pankaj Sinha informed that the recruitable male population in Andhra Pradesh was 7:2. Army was the biggest employer and youth should come forward to join the armed forces to serve the nation better, he added.
