Ajmer: This year, the girls surpassed boys once again in the CBSE Class XII examinations in Ajmer region, the results for which were announced on Wednesday i.e. on May 19, 2010. CBSE Class XII results of all the three streams - science, commerce and arts - were declared at 8.00 am on Wednesday morning.
According to the statement of Board officials, 87.63% of girls who had appeared for the exams have cleared the exams, while a total of 82.38% boys too cleared the exams. Altogether, 84.59% students passed the exams, the lowest in the past four years. The pass percentage shows a drop of 2.5% as compared to last year.
Of the total of 33,101 girls who appeared for the exams, 29,006 have cleared the exams, 2,651 have got compartment, while 1,410 have not been able to clear the exams. On the other hand, of the 45,784 boys who appeared, 4,401 have got compartment, 3,500 failed, while the rest cleared the exams.
Total of 78,885 students appeared for the exams from Ajmer region, which includes Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and union territory of Daman and Diu. Of these, 66,735 have cleared the exams. While 4,916 have flunked the exams, 7, 112 students got compartment, which means they have failed in one of the subjects and will get a chance to clear the exam if a supplementary exam is held soon.
Moreover, 39.04% of students scored between 60% and 74%, 27.56% scored 75% and above. Of the total, 15% scored between 50% and 60%, while less that 2% scored between 45% to 50%. Records show that the JNV schools of Ajmer region performed best in the exams, with an average of 95.46% pass while the KVS with 89.96% pass have improved their score as compared to last year. The private schools remained on third position with 84.32%. The government schools came last with 51.33% pass.
