Lucknow: Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University (CSMMU) official, on Friday i.e. June 11, 2010, announced that the varsity will soon conduct an orientation programme in English. The programme is aimed at enhancing the communicative skills of would-be-doctors studying in the university, particularly from the rural areas.
Abbas Ali Mahdi, Chief Proctor of CSMMU, said that the University’s orientation programme will help those medical students, who come from rural areas and find difficulties in understanding the lectures that are delivered in English language.
According to CSMMU officials, the course would start from the next academic session and it would be a three-month programme. After completing the programme, students can make their choice to continue it, if they are not satisfied with their performance or simply want to have more practice lessons to enhance their communication skills.
Furthermore, the course is conducted by the University particularly for freshers. Although, the senior students, who want to improve their communication skills, may also apply for this programme.
