Coaching Institute Bill to be Presented in Bihar Assembly

Patna: Bihar Cabinet has given its nod to the much-anticipated Coaching Institute Bill. The state is quiet serious about the regulation of coaching centers mushrooming in every nook and corner of the state. Legislation will be introduced on the issue, in the ongoing budget session. Since the Bill has to be presented in the state Legislature, particulars of the same have not been disclosed yet.
 
As per sources, according to the provisions in the Bill, coaching centers in Bihar, offering tuitions in any stream, are required to register themselves. Comprehensive detail about the number of students enrolled, subjects being taught, faculty members associated and the infrastructure have to be enlisted by the coaching centers, with the District Magistrate. The registration has to be renewed after a term of three years. 
 
A senior official said that according to a section of Coaching Institute Bill, a fine could be imposed in case of any infringement of rule. The District Magistrate is supposed to be the head of the committee, which supervises the working of the coaching institutes. In order to find a solution for the complaints of the students, a student grievance cell would also be incorporated.
