Bangalore: Dublin University has expressed its interest to have mutual programme with University of Bangalore, popularly known as Bangalore University. As per sources, the collaborative programme would include student and staff exchange between the two universities. According to a press release, a delegation of senior academicians escorted by Dr. John Hegarty, Head of University of Dublin met Dr. N Prabhu Dev, Vice-Chancellor, Bangalore University.
Further, the release told that the delegation has showed their interest to have student and staff exchange. As per sources, Dr. Dev recommended that the areas of interaction would be productive in nano-technology, non-conventional energy, plant biology and ecology.
Moreover, sources informed that Dr. Dev also showed interest in the possibilities of students studying in four year B S programme of Bangalore University getting an opportunity to study in Trinity College, particularly in the final year of their industry related research dissertation programmes.
As per sources, Dr. Hegarty has assured to visit atleast twice in the current academic year ending September 2011. He has also guaranteed to send a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for consideration of Bangalore University for implementation.
