Engineering Seats Still Lying Vacant in Karnataka

Bangalore: In Karnataka, around 14000 engineering seats are still lying vacant after the final round of counseling in engineering colleges. The number includes 8691 seats in private quota and around 5000 seats in common entrance test government quota.
 
Karnataka state government has announced to conduct a special counseling special counseling round will be held for students who have cleared their pre-university courses in the supplementary chance.
 
As per sources, last year, around 11300 seats in engineering colleges were left vacant. Despite a dip in enrollment in engineering colleges, 3500 seats were added, last year. The reason behind such a large number of seats being remained unoccupied is the numerous engineering colleges that have been approved in the state.
