Shimla: On Thursday i.e. February 25, 2010, the State Government of Himachal Pradesh has given its nod for setting up of a state-run nursing college in Shimla. The state government has offered financial assistance by allotting Rs 5 crore to set up the college.
Rajeev Bindal, Health Minister on this Thursday (February 25) evening after the cabinets meeting has granted the permission to open a nursing school in the premises of Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla.
This would be the first government college in the state. Initially, the nursing college would conduct M Sc. (nursing), B.Sc. (nursing) and post-basic B.Sc. (nursing) besides one specialized course.
