Chennai: Great Lakes Institute of Management launched a new management programme, namely Post Graduate Working Professional Program in Management (PGWPM), which will be offered from the session commencing in July 2010. The newly launched programme is basically designed targetting the working professionals and would be the third professional course offered by the institution.
Prof Sriram, Executive Director of Great Lakes said that the course structure was designed for the benefit of working professionals. It is spread over 52 alternate weekends making it a two-year course to enable the professionals to attend classes. He also mentioned that the professionals would have to attend 36 theory classes and submit a master thesis project at the end of the course. The course would commence from July, which would cost Rs five lakh. Moreover, applicants can pay the fee in one or two instalments.
Those applying for the course should have two to ten years of work experience and a good CAT or GMAT score. For those professionals who do not possess neither of the scores, have to come through entrance tests. According to Prof Easwar Krishna Iyer, Director, PGWPM the new course will help the professionals break the glass ceiling. They are expecting 400 plus students for the new course.
