Haryana Proposes to Establish 13 Industrial Training Institutes (ITI’s)

Chandigarh: On Friday i.e. on September 17, 2010, an official has said that Haryana has sent a proposal to establish 13 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) mode and 96 skill development centers, to central government for approval.
 
Urvashi Gulati, Chief Secretary Haryana, has said that the ITIs will be set up in several parts of the state. As per sources, the announcement was made in the third meeting of state level skill development mission.
 
Furthermore, Gulati emphasized the need to provide quality training. She also underlined the need to introduce new sort-term vocational courses in the ITIs and polytechnic institutes. She said that more employment opportunities could be provided to youth through the initiative.
 
In addition, she also mentioned that in order to give training to school dropouts and to certify the existing skills of people, the industrial training department in Haryana is implementing a skill development initiative scheme to provide training through registered vocational training provider.
